Unit 3

Preparing the World for Its Savior

This unit begins with a sad era for Israel. Students start with Solomon’s reign of temporal glory and power but note his divided heart and watch as his kingdom is divided after his death, then plundered and destroyed by pagan empires that God raises up: the Assyrians and Babylonians. In Week 23, we study the pivotal Persians, who both restored the Israelites to their homeland and also attempted to expand into Greek territory. Our focus remains on Greece for the four final weeks of Unit 3.
