The “history-based” element is in the weekly practice sets, which use sentences exclusively drawn from history topics that students may be studying in the corresponding week of Tapestry’s Integrated or Spools products. For example, in Week 3 of Year 1, students may be asked to identify the Proper Nouns in the sentence, “Moses became the adopted son of Pharaoh’s daughter.”Sentences that relate history facts (or interesting historical trivia) help to make the tedious process of learning English Grammar more relevant and interesting to students, and such sentences also provide a review of historical information! To that end, our English Grammar program delivers the same “starter set” of grammatical concept lessons with four different sets of practice worksheets and answer keys, one for each of the four years of Tapestry of Grace. Families can start in any year, and (because English Grammar is a discipline that requires repetition), lessons can be repeated for each of the four years if necessary. As a one-year course of study, our English Grammar program is designed for the Upper Grammar level (approximately Grades 4-6). However, Dialectic and Rhetoric Level students can also use these products for English Grammar review. How? In addition to making the program available as a one-year course, the same lessons will also be linked to our Writing page. As upper level students’ teachers identify problems in the students’ writing compositions (a tendency to comma splices, for instance), those students can look up the specific lesson related to that concept on the Writing page, then complete a practice set on the concept using whichever year they happen to be in at the time.
Please Note:
  • DE products (or printouts of them) cannot be transferred, loaned, or resold.
  • In this product, English Grammar concepts are taught in a different order than the one used in the 2020 edition of Tapestry Integrated or Tapestry Spools.  However, the English Grammar lessons included here are each able to stand alone, so you can use them in any order you wish, including the sequence in the 2020 edition writing assignments.
