internship opportunities at lampstand press
Lampstand Press was born twenty-five years ago from the joint efforts of Scott Somerville, an HSLDA lawyer, and Marcia Somerville, author of Tapestry of Grace. It is owned and run today by Christina Somerville, their daughter. Christina is a curriculum designer, a teacher of fifteen years in a range of subjects for all ages, and is an author several times over. She loves to offer internships to students of both genders in business administration, marketing, curriculum design, teaching, publishing, and a variety of research/publishing areas (history, literature, philosophy, math, science, economics, music, and arts).
Some internships with Lampstand Press are paid; others are unpaid. Some of our internships are remote; others take place at the Library building on Storybook Farm, Lampstand’s private mountain retreat (free onsite housing provided for the duration of the internship). Some internships run in summer; others run during the school year. You can be sure, however, that all internships offered to accepted applicants will be designed for those applicants and tailored to their needs.
Because Lampstand offers such a wide range of options, we encourage prospective applicants to reach out to us with their interests and ideas. If a mutually beneficial arrangement can be made, we will make it! To apply, email Christina Somerville directly at cjsomerville@gmail.com.
Our onsite internships take place in the Library building at our private mountain retreat, Storybook Farm, nestled in the hills of West Virginia about three hours outside of D.C.
